Dear Gianluigi Contarin, now you too are up there watching over us

June 17, 2021

“Dear Gianluigi Contarin, now you too are up there watching over us. You have been a great Man, always ready to help people, and in fact we collaborated together several times. You were the mayor of Riese Pio X, the little town I love and which saw my childhood. I remind you with your last words that you wrote to us, on June 5: ‘Dear Friends of Anima Universale… you too are part of my life…’
Gianluigi, forever in my heart.
Thank You, dear Friend.”

Father Fulgenzio Cortesi: a Holy Man

Leini (Turin, Italy), 4 June 2021

“Father Fulgenzio, my friend,

We have come a long way together… you gave us the honor of helping you in your great mission in Africa. We shared joys and sorrows together.

You have always been part of our family and today we have “lost” a special brother. Humanly, the pain is great, as is great the love that united us and unites us forever.

Those who had the grace to meet you can say that in their life they have known a true Saint, a Saint in flesh and blood.
A Saint who loved all my monks enormously.

I keep you forever in my heart.”—Swami Roberto

Aid to the Italian Red Cross of Leini and Treviso

Leini (Turin, Italy), 19 May 2021

May 8 was World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The Church Anima Universale wanted to join those who celebrated this day with great gratitude to the wonderful volunteers of the Italian Red Cross, who for many months have been at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic and also do their utmost to help the elderly, the frail and those in financial difficulty.

And since concrete solidarity is also important in helping the Red Cross to help, on the occasion the Church Anima Universale donated Euros 10,200 to the Italian Red Cross Committee of Leini, and Euros 5,000 to the Italian Red Cross Committee of Treviso, near Venice, which assist and support many of our fellow citizens in the territories where our monasteries are located.

Scholars coming from all over the world to the Church Universal Soul

Leini (Turin, Italy), Saturday 7 September 2019

Eighty distinguished Docents, Researchers and Scholars of Religions coming from all over the world visited the Monastery of the Church Universal Soul at Leini.

The visit was organised by the CESNUR as part of the prestigious 2019 International Conference “Re-Enchanting the World: Spiritualities and Religions of the Third Millennium”, which was held at the Luigi Einaudi Campus of the University of Turin from 5 to 7 September.

At 10.15am the large group was welcomed at the entrance of the monastery by a group of Ramia monks (both men and women). Right from the beginning the questions rained in, and it was perceptible the curiosity towards our reality, which many were visiting for the first time.

Leini (Turin, Italy), 9 May 2019

Last night we received the fraternal and joyful visit of Father Fulgenzio Cortesi, the Passionist missionary who founded the Village of Joy in Tanzania. Anima Universale saw the birth of his Village and has supported it from the beginning.

Our friend and brother missionary was accompanied by Mother Superior Sister Maria Teresa with Sister Fransiska and Sister Brigitha—of the congregation Mamme degli Orfani [Mothers of Orphans] that he founded in Dar es Salaam—and by our friends Giammaria, Chairman of Villaggio della Gioia ONLUS, Claudio and Guido.

10.000 people in Carice, Haiti, now have drinking water

Leini (Turin, Italy), 11 September 2018

Today marks the anniversary—we wish it never existed—of a tragedy that will sadly remain engraved in history: the dramatic attack on the Twin Towers in New York City in 2001.

The Church Anima Universale wishes “to put” a drop of joy and hope—that has just come true for the poorest of Haiti—in this painful day.

Sadly, 70% of the population of Haiti doesn’t have access to safe water. Therefore, waterborne diseases, like typhoid fever, cholera and intestinal infections, cause more than a half of the annual deaths, and are responsible for the high rate of child mortality.

The good news is that, thanks to the Church Anima Universale, one water treatment plant has been built that will serve almost 10,000 inhabitants of Carice, a really poor and remote village located on the mountains in Northwest Haiti
