Don Pierino’s Sacred Vestments: An Embrace That Remains in the Temple of Anima Universale

Don Pierino’s Sacred Vestments

Today, 12 August 2026, marks the twelfth anniversary of the passing of Monsignor Pietro Gelmini, Founder of the Comunità Incontro, toward those “celestial meadows” he loved to evoke with such tenderness.

And today his memory becomes even more alive and present in the Temple of Anima Universale: three sacred vestments that Don Pierino wore will remain here, displayed permanently, kept as one keeps those one loves.

We received them, and they have been entrusted to us, by his successor, Dr. Giampaolo Nicolasi, together with Antonio Chieppa of the Comunità Incontro Boards of Directors, to honor the profound and fraternal friendship that bound Don Pierino to Swami Roberto. A love that continues, strong and alive, beyond the boundaries of the visible.

This is not the first time Don Pierino has left his mark within these walls: back in 2006 he gave us the statue of the Madonna of the Smile, so that her maternal face might welcome whoever crosses the threshold of our Temple. Today, twenty years later, we have been able to write another beautiful chapter in the long history of friendship and collaboration between Anima Universale and the Comunità Incontro.

We are certain that whoever pauses before these vestments, even for a moment of silence or a prayer, will find Don Pierino there waiting: paternal, attentive, and blessing, as he has always been to those who sought him.
