Palermo (Sicily, Italy), 29 July 2016 – by Alberto and Gabriella Chitti
On a sunny afternoon we participated as representatives of the Church Anima Universale at the important launching ceremony of the ketch ‘Lisca Bianca’, which took place at the port of Palermo in the presence of authorities and a cheering crowd.
As we reported, last spring our Church was contacted by Dr. Elio Lo Cascio —Sociologist, Criminal Mediator and President of the Lisca Bianca Voluntary Association— who submitted us their project for the restoration of the historic boat, which sailed around the world. The aim of the project is to promote social and working inclusion of disadvantaged young people and inmates.
Anima Universale contributed with a donation of 20,000 Euros.
“Very often we had to stop, because we did not have the wood to work with. Here there is also Anima Universale which, as soon as it learned of the project, decided to give the final push to put the boat back into the water.”
— Elio Lo Cascio
We pass on to each of you the gratitude and the many hugs that we received as representatives of Anima Universale.
Pace and joy, everyone.
