Thursday 9 April, at 10am, we celebrated the birthday of Swami Roberto and of those who love him. The Great Temple seemed small to accommodate all this cheering crowd, a crowd of holy fools – people with a generous heart, and able to do great works for the most needy without expecting even a thank you. Wonderful people who can not ever give up! This is people who show the world that God really exists.
Heartfelt thanks to the talented singer Simona Sorbara (vocalist with Roby Facchinetti), to Maestro Carlo Gaudiello on the piano (who played at the last Festival of Sanremo with Malika Ayane), to the great jazz percussionist Roberto Ferrante and to the legendary ramia Paolo, guitarist composer and author, who arranged the songs for our celebration.
The monks ramia Osvaldo Ristuccia, ramia Roberto Conte and ramia Giancarlo Rigo intervened with important reflections, which have enriched this memorable meeting. Ramia Mirco Parlato was the dynamic host of the musical part. All the Ramia monks have collaborated to the success of our party. Hurrah!
And a big hurray! also to all the volunteers who always do their best with much good will for the benefit of the pilgrims.
On ramia Massimo’s blog “Diary of a monk” you can read the speech given by ramia Riccardo: The 9th of April and our “Fosbury Moments” (in Italian).
“... It is written that some learned Pharisees said to Jesus: ‘Master, rebuke thy disciples!’ who are acclaiming you as the Messiah. They are blasphemers! crazy! possessed!
Well… Now as then there is always someone trying to stifle the good news showing great arrogance. But Jesus answered, ‘I tell you that if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out’.”
In the picture below, our dear friend and neighbour Gina Milioto Piazza, who had said: “I will be at the celebration only if Swami promises to give me a kiss”.
