Leinì, 11th Novembre 2007 – Father Anthony Elenjimittam, accompanied by a group of disciples, took part at Swami Roberto’s holy Darshan.
Father Anthony founded the Sat-Chit-Ananda Mission in Europe and the “Welfare Society for Destitute Children” in Mumbai to house, help and educate marginalized children. Father Anthony worked with Mahatma Gandhi in Naokhali, at the Shaodpur Ashram and in Wardha. In 1962 Pope John XXIII received him in the Vatican and confirmed his mission for the orphans in Mumbai and his missionary apostolate to bring forward the spiritual union amongst the religions, the races and the nations of the human family. Pope John XXIII offered him also the archiepiscopal mitre, but he declined the offer in order to continue his evangelical mission in Jesus’ poverty and to go on with the work given him by Gandhi. Furthermore his ecumenical activity was supported by the Patriarch of Venice Albino Luciani, later Pope John Paul I.
Nowadays Father Anthony, despite his venerable age, untiringly continues his ecumenical mission giving lectures all round the world. His motto is Ut Omnia Unum Sint (So that All become One).
Father Anthony Elenjimittam has known Swami Roberto since 1989, when he wrote him this deep thought of spiritual union:
“Be for you, for me and for everybody
Mother Earth our fatherland,
Truth our Holy Scripture,
and the Freedom of God’s sons our dream.
Praying, dear brother Roberto Casarin,
that all be One in the Eternal!”
