On 8 December 2008 Swami Roberto was awarded the Jerusalem Cross by His Beatitude Gregorios III Laham “a testimony of his devotion to the Holy Land and the services rendered to our Patriarchate.
The ancient and prestigious award was handed over to Swami Roberto by the Archimandrites Monsignor Virginio Fogliazza e Monsignor Riccardo Alessandrini on behalf of the Patriarch Gregorios III on 22 February 2009 at Leinì (Turin, Italy).
